Country Music Radio Seminar Australia (CMRSA) has been created to provide an opportunity for radio broadcasters, programmers and presenters and the Australian country music industry to exchange ideas and explore ways to build audiences and grow respective industries.

The inaugural Country Music Radio Seminar will be held on 26 January 2012 at the Tamworth Sports Dome during the Tamworth Country Music Festival. It is envisaged that the Seminar will become an annual event and in time may also include Awards, Hall of Fame and Scholarships.

The CMA Australian Advisory Group (AAG), together with the Tamworth Country Music Festival, is convening the inaugural Country Music Radio Seminar Australia: Building Your Audience 2012. The CMA AAG is made up of leaders in the Australian music and entertainment industries who all work on a completely voluntary basis and without any external funding.

The CMA AAG has a key role in assisting to build the Australian country music industry for local artists and for touring international artists. An essential strategy in building the industry is increasing effective radio airplay for country music. It is therefore critical for the industry to develop a productive relationship with radio broadcasters and engage them in supporting the growth and sustainability of the industry, and at the same time allowing broadcasters an opportunity to explore a country radio format which will potentially lead to increased audiences. With the advent of many new country radio stations over the last few years and the opportunities being created by the advent of digital radio it is an exciting time for the country music radio industry in Australia.
